South High Magnet School is proud to have 6 curricular choirs offered throughout the day, with 3 of them being traditional "Concert Choirs". Each curricular choirs meets for one period a day.
Cantaré (or Mixed Chorus) is our only non-auditioned curricular choir at SHMS. Cantaré is comprised of students 9-12, and typically perform once a quarter at our home concerts. There are currently two sections on Cantaré - Cantaré Men, and Cantaré Women. This class meets once a school day.
Coro Brava is the all female choral ensemble at South High Magnet School. This group is typically comprised of students 10-12, however exceptions can be made to allow Freshman to participate in the group per Mrs. Bolton and Mr. Gruttemeyer. This group performs at every home concert, district music contest, and at events in the South Omaha Area.
Concert Choir/Honors Concert Choir
Concert Choir/Honors Concert Choir is the top Choral Ensemble offered at SHMS. Members of Concert Choir perform at every home Vocal Music Concert, and anywhere between 4-6 extra concerts a year. Members of Honors Concert Choir must meet extra standards to receive honors credit.

Feedback will be given in Infinite Campus. Send to Mr. Gruttemeyer via email. This cut goes from the beginning of Mvt. 5 on page 26 to the end of the choral on page 32.
Honors Assignment Due 9/17 by 10:00p.m.
Part check recording on all of Movement 42. A portion of this assignment will be music we have not worked on yet in class (the Amen's and finale starting at measure 102-127).Along with this recording you must submit a 1-2 paragraph essay over how you learned the new material on your own.
